Mary Beth Flannery, Partner

Mary Beth is an award-winning reputation management, communications and social impact expert. With experience in the corporate, non-profit and government sectors, Mary Beth has a 360-degree lens and understanding of partners’ needs, voices and the power of collaboration.

Prior to Impact Squared Group, Mary Beth was the principal of Sullivan Communication Strategy, where she launched successful social impact and integrated marketing strategies for many respected, global brands.

Previously, Mary Beth held leadership positions in communications and external affairs at Allstate Insurance Company and with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago and Boston. She launched her career in advertising at DDB Worldwide providing strategic media solutions for Anheuser-Busch Company.

Mary Beth has volunteered her expertise and time with diverse education, social service and cultural organizations serving in both Board roles and direct service volunteerism.

Mary Beth received her undergraduate degree from DePauw University and was selected to participate in the selective Advanced Institute of Advertising Studies program with Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She lives on the north side of Chicago with her husband and two daughters.

David Woolwine,
partner

David is a recognized thought leader in corporate reputation strategy and social responsibility.

Prior to founding Impact Squared Group, David held key leadership positions in multiple business units at Allstate Insurance Company. For the last ten years, he was the Director of Reputation and Corporate Citizenship, where he pioneered and oversaw Allstate’s best-in-class reputation strategy function. From its inception, he played a pivotal role in developing a cutting-edge cross-stakeholder research program that became the foundation for Allstate’s corporate positioning and messaging.

David’s leadership style and data-driven approach proved instrumental in shaping Allstate’s social innovation strategy.  His efforts focused on leveraging the company’s influence to improve communities through volunteerism, grassroots advocacy, and strategic philanthropy.

With a long history of community involvement, David dedicated eight years to serving on the board of the Illinois Humanities Council and over a decade to the West Edgewater Area Residents. His commitment to civic involvement extended to being appointed by the Mayor of Chicago to the Advisory Council for the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events. He was also an adjunct faculty member at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

David holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and public relations from Radford University and an MBA in marketing from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He lives in Chicago, Illinois, and Palm Springs, California and continues to be a driving force in corporate reputation strategy, community service, and social impact.

Ellen Lisak,
Director

Ellen is an accomplished leader in the social impact, strategic communications, employee engagement and reputation management fields.

Before joining Impact Squared Group, Ellen held senior leadership roles overseeing operations, strategic programming and social impact measurement for The Allstate Foundation. She also helped lead the creation and integration of Allstate’s reputation management strategy across the company.

Prior to her tenure at Allstate, Ellen was the global head of internal communications for Northern Trust Bank, overseeing all corporate internal communications, as well as internal and external communications and strategic positioning efforts for the bank’s Chairman and CEO. Ellen also spent time as a team leader at Gagen MacDonald communications firm where she developed a range of employee engagement and internal and external strategic communications programs for major global and domestic brands.

Ellen hold two degrees from the University of Notre Dame – a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in psychology. She lives in the north suburbs of Chicago with her husband and three young children.
